What if I can't be hypnotised?

  • Broadly speaking, anyone who wants to be hypnotised can be hypnotised, although the depth of trance will vary with each individual
  • It is, however, important that you feel comfortable and at ease with your therapist. If you feel in any way uncomfortable, discuss it openly, your hypnotherapist will be experienced in guiding different individuals into trance and will fully understand.

I have heard about self-hypnosis, could I do that instead?

  • It is possible to practice self-hypnosis, it is easy to learn although it does require great self discipline. The advantage is that you can do it in your own home at your own convenience. It is easy to learn and you can se the process as much as possible, or when a specific problem presents itself. With practice, anyone can learn self-hypnosis techniques to resolve inner conflict and to gain greater awareness of self. However, guided hypnosis by a qualified therapist can often provide a framework that can produce results more quickly.
